White Curvy Couch Slipcover

First off--- I am booked until OCT 30th--email me if you want on my list for November (limited spots available). Don't forget, I will not be taking any clients during the month of December.

My client loved her couch and the way it snuggled into her small space...she just wasn't loving all the flowers anymore.

Couch---BEFORE--- great curvy lines!

Couch---AFTER---white denim with a kick pleat skirt----brightened up the room!

FRont of Arm-- she picked up some great throw pillows out of a flax printed linen.

The back cushions---I kept the style the same as the original with the "kiss pleats" on the upper corners of them.

Whole room--- LOVE that WINDOW/ SHUTTER thing!

SIde Note- #1--- I AM BOOKED UNTIL OCTOBER 30TH! please email me if you want on my list. for NOVEMBER---limited spots (I always take December off).

Side Note #2--
This past weekend I headed to Reno to meet up with the rest of my family (all 6 siblings with their families came as well as my parents).

My oldest nephew returned from his mission for our church, so it was his homecoming! It happened to be his younger brother's birthday on the same I racked my brain trying to come up with a birthday gift for an 18 yr. old boy.

Here's what I came up with. I made him a wallet out of some of my grandpa's old shirts (his great grandpa). I even took a tag out of one of the shirts that had grandpa's initials on it and sewed it on the inside as a label. Then I asked all my siblings and parents to chip in some cash to fill it up.
He LOVED it!

Tutorial for wallet can be found here...

Here's a pic of my little family with Seth---he served in Paraguay for 2 years.

Here's Seth with his two brothers. It was so great to see everyone and hang out. We had a BBQ and played volleyball, went to the pool, and some of the boys went shooting. I even squeezed in a fitting for a chair and ottoman while I was there.

Felted Wool Couch Slipcover

Couch- BEFORE--- Burgandy tufted silky fabric. It also had a skirt, but my client wanted to switch it up, so she grabbed a few screwdrivers and pliers and we pulled it off and removed the staples.

She had amazing silk drapes that were tan and light blue that framed the window with the couch. LOVED it!

Camel color felted wool. Lots of texture and it was soft and washed up AMAZINGLY! It was also a bit it covered the tufting well.

She loved the shape of the couch because it fit perfectly in her window nook. So instead of trying to find some bulky new couch that didn't fit, she hired me to slipcover the one she had.

Front of the arm (they call these English rolled arms)

No skirt, just ended it with piping and topstitched it up.

Navy/Tan Herringbone Couch Slipcover

I am offering a promo code for my "Pillow Talk" ebook... It's posted on my Facebook page. So head on over and "like" my page and get the code for $5 off through the end of August. Makes it $15 instant download!

My client was moving to Alaska---so we were on a deadline with this one. We had one week from the time the fabric finally arrived till the movers were coming. She ordered her fabric from Calico Corners...amazing navy blue/tan herringbone.

I worked very hard to match up all the stripes! Even from the front of the arm going across to match up with the front of the couch (if that makes sense).

Close up of upper back cushion

Cushions...check out those stripes...I had to make sure the diagonal on the band was matching up as well.

Today is our 15 yr anniversary!

 Our Wedding Day!

Here is a pic from our anniversary date a few days ago...we went to the outdoor theatre at Sundance to see "7 Brides for 7 Brothers". Then we headed up to our cabin for the night. The next day we rented tubes and floated down the Provo river. Awesome date! I love this man!

Heber used to work at Sundance when we were dating, so we had spent a lot of time there. I used to meet up with him and ride in the snow cat with him while he groomed the ski slopes. He taught me how to ski (I hated going fast), so we did cross country skiing for awhile until I got used to it.

He used to take me and my sisters to the outdoor movies. We'd go to the Grill Room for dinner. He'd take me on the snow mobiles, and the ski lift, and hiking. He even proposed at an overlook of Stewart Falls.

Chalk Garden Co-op Slipcovers

One of my designer clients was hired to design this building for a co-op store, which includes JMR, a hair studio, and a gallery. It's called the "Chalk Garden Co-op" in downtown Salt Lake City. He picked up 3 wing backs and a settee from a consignment store for me to slipcover in drop cloths.

Here is a pic of the settee BEFORE. My mom came over and saw this in my work room and fell in love with it...she loved the fabric as is. Sorry got recovered with drop cloth.

I didn't get before pics of the wing backs....I was dealing with a time issue- I only put so much $ in the parking meter out front. I was lucky enough to find a double spot to fit my car and trailer. The wing backs were peach velvet and gray velvet.

Here is one of the wingbacks AFTER with french welting (piping without the cording and kiss pleats on the corners). Forgive the wrinkles...I transport in bags, so it takes a few days for the wrinkles to fall out.

This store opened yesterday. All these pics were from about a week ago, when they were still in crunch time trying to finish all the construction details! I'll have to stop back in and see the finished product.

AFTER---wingbacks were all pushed to the side for the construction men to do their work.

Settee--AFTER--kiss pleat on the front corner before I dropped the pleated skirt.

This building is AMAZING!!!

Check out those stairs at the far end of the pic!

Whole room

Close up showing the kiss pleats.

Even french welting joining the inside arm to the inside wing....just kind of finishes it off.

Here are some more props for the store.

Last week we headed to Idaho to raft the Payette River with my sisters in laws---who are rafting junkies! Her husband just opened a rafting store in SLC, UT with his brother.

Anyhow half way to Idaho, Heber wakes me up to tell me he forgot to throw our sleeping bags in the car (we were gonna camp out for 3 nights). So my mind started working trying to figure out if we knew anyone in Idaho that we could borrow sleeping bags from, so we didn't have to buy new ones.

I remembered Amy lived in Idaho. She bought my Slipcover DVD about a year and a half ago and has started her own business, we talk from time to time and Facebook each other. So I called her up, and she was nice enough to borrow us some sleeping bags! So we finally got to meet in person!

Here I am with Amy in her front yard.

The following are all pics from rafting the Payette River!

I am on the back of the raft holding on!
