nursery swivel rocker

My client wanted to slipcover her nursery swivel rocker in a gender neutral color, since they weren't finding out what they were having. I forgot to take a before pic--it was just a muslin covered chair ready for a slipcover.

She chose a great grey diamond fabric. IMG_5018

I did do velcro under the bottom edge to keep it all tight and in place.

I love the mural they painted on the wall! It's perfect with the crib and dresser. IMG_5027

Side note-- She also had me make a few pillow to finish off her front room. She chose some great fabrics! You ALWAYS need pillows to finish off a space. I always use down inserts in my pillows, so you can fluff them and they always look great. Polyfiber fills, just go flat and hard over a few months time.

Cream wingbacks

My client wanted to update her 90's plaid chairs to cream wingbacks. I had some cream twill on hand that worked for what she needed!IMG_4315 BEFORE---Plaid wingbacks

IMG_4325AFTER---Cream wingbacks, we kept the legs showing.

IMG_4330These finished off her room beautifully!

Side Notes-- Well it's hunting season here in Utah and my two oldest got to go this year! Love this pic Heber took of them! They are heading out again this weekend for anterless elk tags...hopefully they get something! They've been watching hunting shows since April!

My youngest is super crafty and is always trying to make something out of anything else we own. He was set on making a knife blade and needed some steel--he asked if he could have the table saw blade! That was a definite NO! He settled on an old piece of skateboard rail that was kicking around. He's been filing this thing for days!12043111_10207822759867395_478087060166646722_n

Navy/Oatmeal chair

My client decided she wanted to switch it up and have a navy/oatmeal chair. She found this great fabric from www.fabric.com. It washed beautifully! click  HERE to see BEFORE pic.

IMG_4371After! Lots of matching! She had some extra fabric, so instead of making pillows she thought arm pads would be best to keep the chair looking good. I provide some great, painless MATCHING TIPs in my Advanced Slipcover Guide. It's an instant download! Use Promo code FALL to receive 20% off!

IMG_4372I really wanted the arm pads to match up as well!

SIDE NOTES! My summer in a nutshell!11036298_10207164853740153_7497275904053024283_n

My boys are always creating something! I LOVE IT! To see more of their projects search instagram #hebersboys or click here
11866402_10207442727646827_3662972263624699715_nHeber and I celebrated our 18yr anniversary!

11895981_10207517452314897_4529477657488302957_n We took our first family backpacking trip! One mile, one night in the Unitas (Lake Ruth).

IMG_4880My oldest son is running cross country and had practices EVERY day of the summer---which meant lots of carpooling! At last weeks meet, he took 31st place out of 256 varsity boys! So worth all the carpooling to see him push himself and run hard. He average 5:30/mile for 2.9miles! So proud of him!

10999443_10207299992358534_2729427318141832675_nI helped plan our family reunion! We had it on the Oregon Coast this year, which was AMAZING! These are all my siblings! 6 kids and 21 grandkids, it was quite the party! Talent shows, dance parties, fishing, hot tubbing, hiking, paddle boarding, etc! My sister surprised us at the talent show with these bobble heads from an old family picture--her whole family had them on and danced to YMCA--It was the funniest thing I've ever seen!Photobucket Photobucket get it covered photo coveredbutton.jpg the whole 9 yards photo whole9yards.jpg

Floral Chair

My client had her last slipcover (white) for 10 yrs…she thought it was time to do something fun. This is "her" chair that she sits in every night.

 Chair--before muslin covered

Chair--AFTER--she decided she wanted the pink flowers to be centered on the back.

There was quite a bit of matching involved, but it all went smoothly.

She decided on no skirt... to mix it up. Her last one had a skirt.

The repeat flowed perfectly down the front of the chair.

Her whole room…we did a few pillows for the couch out of the extras.

SIDE NOTE…We finally are done! The handrail got installed last week.

Bergere Chairs--exposed wood

My client dropped these chairs off, and I couldn't contain my excitement! They were a sage green with exposed wood and crazy beautiful lines! She wanted to keep the lines as clean as possible and not frilly, and if possible wanted to show off the vertical wood bar on the outside back.

CHAIRS--BEFORE

CHAIRS--AFTER--she used a white twill that formed and shaped perfectly on all the curves.

The outside back was a little tricky--I sewed a panel on the left side with the piping then fed it behind the wood and used velcro to close the opening. (White velcro...it's hard to see). Somehow every wrinkle shows up in pics--it looked way better in person. Of course she prewashed her fabric, so she can wash the slipcovers.

The second side of velcro was sewn onto the seam allowance behind the piping on the right.

How beautiful is that! I was so happy that it turned out how I thought it should in my head.

She wanted to do peekaboo holes on the arms to show off some more wood. Of course I did piping down the inside arm seam to finish it off and make it look more tailored.

I did a band around the front edge to hug the curve better.

SIDE NOTES---

-My next race is in October....a day relay in Park City---hopefully there's not snow! We all run twice, 65 miles total with a 6 man team.

-Working on a "Travel for Cheap" post---I started it yesterday, but it's super rambly---I need to edit and add some photos, to get you excited! I know it's no fun to read a long post with no pics!

-I am adjusting back to the new schedule with school and kids homework---we'll see how I fare this year with 8th grade advanced math!

-I am booking into November right now---Don't forget, I always take December off! So if there's something you need, make sure and email me to get on my list sooner rather than later!
