Park City Slipcovers

My client wanted to redo some leather furniture that she had slipcovered previously. The seat cushion came off and the back cushion had been cut off.

 Leather chair--BEFORE

English rolled arm--BEFORE

Leather couch---BEFORE

AFTER---leather couch and english rolled arm chair in the background on the right side.

English rolled arm---AFTER--done in an awesome heavy weight white linen!

Leather chair---AFTER---done in a white denim with arm pads. I made this one a bit roomier than normal to allow for extra shrinkage. My client said she washes them about once a month.

Both cushions covered separately on leather chair

 How amazing is her room!

I loved her tall linen curtains!

Leather couch---AFTER--- she wanted to keep her green seat cushion covers for now...so we just did the main body and back cushions and some arm pads to help with wear and tear.

AFTER of both chairs.

Zipper down back right side behind the piping.

SIDE NOTE---

Moved into my new work studio this week....here's a sneak peak! I'll do a full post next week.

Herringbone Chaise Lounge

My client chose this great tan herringbone fabric to slipcover her chaise. I didn't get a pic of the before...but it was a red denim slipcover that was faded and had seen better days. We also ordered a new down back cushion to bring new life to the piece.

Chaise--AFTER--we also did two houndstooth chenille pillows.

AFTER---subtle stripe that I matched up.

The chenille herringbone fabric was AMAZING!

She also had me do some new pillows for her couch. She really wanted double rope. I told her it might not work out, but I'd give it a try. Rope is really hard to work with, and is really hard to join and make it  look GOOD.

I was SURPRISED that it worked out! It was a larger black rope in the back and then a smaller gold rope in the front.

Her whole room! She had her pieces (couch, chair, ottoman) upholstered by Lenny Sharpe with Sharpe Upholstry in Midvale, UT. He does EXCELLENT work, and I always refer him.

I loved this chair that Lenny did in a great black/ cream houndstooth fabric.

SIDE NOTE

Here are a few pics of the progress on my new work studio.... I started moving all my stuff in last night.  I am VERY HAPPY!!!

The walls are gray, chandelier is gold, and french doors are mossy green, curtains are blue and white.

#2--- Marathon training is going good. Ran 14 miles today. Usually it's a love/ hate relationship.... I love it when I am done. Today was a good run though, and I actually loved it out there today on the open road.

Lorraines Tan Linen Couch

Lorraine loves ruffles and pink and antiques. She wanted to change it up a bit with her couch.

Gold couch---BEFORE

Couch-- AFTER---tan linen blend with 3x gather on the skirt with 1" of drag.

She had some awesome pillows to pull it all together.

I love all her collections and antiques.

I loved the 3x gather on the skirt...super full and feminine.  She wanted it just a tiny bit loose, so I made the band 1/2" taller on cushions and 1" drag on skirt and fit the front of the arms a little bit looser than I normally do.

The original couch had piping down the center in between the cushions....so I did the same.

SIDE NOTE----

Work studio is coming along....we got new stairs and landing built with my dad's help. I got the doors and steps painted mossy, olive green a few days ago. Tomorrow we are laying the floors (gray laminate wood)!

I can't wait to get all moved in. I think I ran up and down the basement stairs at least 15 times yesterday just trying to get the car and trailer loaded for drop offs today. It will be so exciting when I can load straight  from my work room to the trailer on the driveway.

Making my curtains out of this fabric!

My Chandelier got hung this past weekend too! LOVE IT!

Swivel Rocker redo

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!  I thought it would be fitting to show off this red chair today!

Today and tomorrow---my DVD and ebook are 15% off with promo code "VALENTINE"

This clients husband had a "favorite" chair that he wanted to keep.  I am not going to lie, when this chair showed up, I had my doubts! Both arms were severely torn and missing foam. I whip stitched up the one arm and put some batting on the second and whip stitched that arm as well and then added  the cream fabric over the top for added stability and sewed that down by hand.

Chair---BEFORE!

 Arm repair---

Chair--AFTER---- she chose a great red canvas, which sewed up beautifully! She was completely shocked when she came to pick it up---It turned out better than what she was expecting. I had enough fabric to self line the skirt--which gave it a good weight.

I did piping on the inside arm seams....just to finish it off a bit.

Front of arm

I just followed the original lines of the chair, for where to run the piping.

Sasha's Front room

Sasha lived in the same dorms as me my freshman year at BYU. We just reconnected at a mutual friends birthday party...and realized we looked familiar and figured out where we knew each other from.  She took a design class and picked out some fabric to decorate her front room

Wingbacks--BEFORE---

Ottomans--BEFORE--vinyl like fabric with an interesting upholstry job (pulled over at corners and "eased" in).

AFTER---she chose a great cottage floral with a 3/4 length gathered skirt for the wing backs and a coordinating plaid for the ottomans.

We did a 2" pleat ruffle on the bottom of the ottoman. I had to think about the ottomans for a day---the tops were so rounded I didn't think it would work to do piping along the top edge, so I did a "kiss pleat" in each corner and did the piping from there.

Whole room---Turned out AWESOME. Sasha did a great job picking out paint, fabric, and a rug. A room feels so much better when the furniture is grouped into a conversation area. The ottomans were placed where they were, to accommodate her lounging sons during family scripture study. I know us women always want CUTE while our husbands and boys want FUNCTION....I think this was a great compromise on furniture placement.

SIDE NOTE---just got back from our annual trip to Maui and hit the ground running with two appointment days out back to back---dropping off and picking up new items and doing fittings. I need a "mom" day to put my house back together and do some laundry.

Anyhow here are some pics from the trip! Gotta love 80 degree weather in the dead of winter!

We went with two other couples from our neighborhood--- it's always nice to have someone else that's just as white as me!

I LOVE the beach...this pic is in Kihei, where we stayed.

We did a zipline tour this time....lots of fun. We also did a kayak tour, rafting tour, and whale watch.

We drove around the north end of the island on our last day. We discovered a few waterfalls off the side of the road.

Our last sunset in Maui.

Heber climbing for coconuts!

Can't wait for next year....although I think we may try Puerto Rico next time.
