Chair and ottoman floral slipcover

Here's another chair I did for a client. Luckily she had bought an extra 2 yard piece that she was using as a makeshift tablecloth. I took it with just in case we needed it to get the ottoman done. I used every bit of fabric!

Before muslin chair...ready for a new slipcover.

After tan/cream floral...

Another after shot.
I liked this black gingham pillow she had on the bench behind the chair. I always think everything needs a pillow on it to finish it off.

Close up of the front.

I just finished making new pillows for my bed and front room, so I'll be posting those pics soon. I leave in 9 days to head to AZ to run the ragnar relay there. I can't wait to be in 70 degree weather running in shorts showing off my tan (white skin with freckles)!

My sister is having her baby on Thursday! Can't wait to meet baby Milo. I am taking her 4 year old twins for a few days while she has the baby. My kids can't wait for all the sleepovers we are going to have this weekend. I am going to get to hang out with a little girl! Imagine that, I am not sure what little girls like to do. Angie is going to send lots of crafting stuff. I might even help her sew something.

You did a wonderful job. I was happy to see that colour and scale of floral on your chair as well. I have ordered something similar to do my chair and I wasn't sure. I hope mine turns out as nice as yours. Good luck with the relay and rest up for the girls!

I just recently found your site and LOVE your work!

Can you tell me where you are located? I would love for you to do some work for me but I'm in Southern California.

I am in Utah. What part of So. Cal do you live? I grew up in Santa Clarita (40 Miles north of LA).

I love all your recent make-overs! How do these clients have furniture that's just muslin covered to start with? I didn't think you could buy furniture like that but if I'm wrong, I'd love to know it!

Pottery Barn sells lots of slipcovered furniture...which is muslin covered underneath and so does Restoration Hardware. We have a local store called Down East Home that sells seconds from these stores, so lots of people pick up the muslin furniture and then call me to make them a slipcover.

Does that mean they're throwing away a slipcover? Or is Down East selling them without slipcovers? To my knowledge you cannot buy Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware furniture without a slipcover.

Thanks for the help! :)

Most of the time they don't have a slipcover...sometimes they do but it's torn or stained. Or they just don't like the slipcover and think it's a good deal just for the chair (usually about 50% off retail).

Have you ever thought of doing a slipcover class, a al pink and polka dot style? I live in your area and would love it! Think about it.

I have my "how to slipcover" DVD for $48 with shipping. I haven't really considered doing a local class yet...because I have my DVD. If you get the DVD, you can always email or call with questions. The link is on my blog to purchase the DVD.
